Open House in Clatsop County

September 12, 2008

The public is invited to attend an open house to learn more about Palomar Gas Transmission’s proposed underground natural gas pipeline in Oregon, particularly as it relates to Clatsop County and the Clatsop State Forest.

The open house will be held in Westport Community Church, 49246 Highway 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2008.

Palomar has been working with landowners along the current potential pipeline route in Clatsop County for more than a year. The open house provides interested parties an opportunity to learn about the project and to get answers to questions about potential pipeline routes, construction techniques and schedules, environmental fieldwork, and design.

The open house is also an opportunity to provide feedback about the project in general.

With its “come-and-go” format, the open house allows participants to spend as little or as much time as they like talking with Palomar’s project experts – either one-on-one or in small groups.

If you are a landowner, a Palomar representative will be able to help you locate your property in relation to the potential routes in Clatsop County.

Palomar Gas Transmission is a joint venture of TransCanada, a leading North American energy infrastructure company, and NW Natural, the principal distributor of natural gas in Oregon and southwest Washington.

Palomar’s purpose is to increase the reliability of supply for NW Natural’s customers by providing a link to a second interstate pipeline system in Oregon. That system primarily delivers natural gas from Canada, but it also delivers natural gas sourced in the U.S. Rockies.

Palomar is also positioned to receive natural gas from a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal on the Columbia River, should one be built. Palomar would not transport LNG. The terminal would convert the LNG back into natural gas for transportation in underground pipelines.

If you have questions about the open house or any aspect of Palomar’s proposal, leave a message in Palomar’s voice mailbox at 1.866.220.0268 or drop us a line at info@palomargas.com.
